The Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC) is the official planning district for the Northern Virginia (NOVA) region. NVRC’s Environmental Program serves as a point of information exchange and policy coordination among local, state, and federal government stakeholders on relevant issues of regional environmental concern.

There are numerous programs on the local, regional, state and federal levels to help residents and businesses in NOVA reduce their energy use or even produce it through solar. Many of these energy efficiency programs are at no cost depending on age and/or income levels. The NVRC Energy website was created to provide information for residents and business owners who want to reduce their energy use to help protect the environment and to save money.
