Charles County’s vision is to be a place where all people thrive and businesses grow and prosper; where the preservation of County heritage and environment is paramount; where government services to its citizens are provided at the highest level of excellence; and where the quality of life is the best in the nation.

Charles County Government is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transition to 100 percent renewable electricity, improve sustainability in County operations, and educate the county workforce on climate change mitigation and adaptation measures. The Resilience Authority of Charles County will undertake and support resilience infrastructure projects that mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change by offering a range of financing structures, forms, and techniques that leverage public and private investment.
