The Non-CO2 Climate Pollution Reduction Advocate will lead the execution of NRDC’s domestic and international strategy to support the successful implementation of the global phasedown of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), a powerful class of non-CO2 greenhouse gases. The Non-CO2 Climate Pollution Reduction Advocate will do so by providing expertise on matters related to HFCs, bringing our advocacy resources and policy expertise to the Montreal Protocol treaty forum, and building and strengthening HFC phasedown commitments in the United States and India. The Non-CO2 Climate Pollution Reduction Advocate will also lead inquiries into opportunities to address other non-CO2 greenhouse gases, such as nitrous oxide, which is a large and uncontrolled source of emissions.
