The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) to detect and eliminate pollutants from discharging into the County’s waters. A key function of this position is working collaboratively with residents and businesses to prevent pollution. The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations and agency policy and procedures governing water quality, including NPDES MS4 permitting, stormwater management and pollution prevention control techniques. Knowledge and experience in fact finding, analysis and resolution of complex technical and environmental issues. Experience with Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination programs and procedures, including using monitoring equipment, indicator parameters, sample collection considerations, and analytical methods.
