The Department of Energy & the Environment (DOEE) released the District of Columbia Transportation Electrification Roadmap in September 2022 as part of the District’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. The roadmap identifies several key areas for rapid electric vehicle (EV) adoption. Within that, the goal is for at least 25% of all registered vehicles in the District as EVs by 2030, which requires significant infrastructure built to support that many EVs.
