Under general supervision of the Division Manager for Innovation and Sustainability in the Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination (OEEC), the Climate Mitigation Specialist coordinates, implements and promotes Fairfax County’s extensive environmental, climate, and energy programs, plans, and policies. In particular, this position supports the implementation of the Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP), a key OEEC initiative focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through strategies and actions including energy efficiency improvements, increased use of renewable energy, and electrification of buildings and transportation.
