City of Bowie offers this program designed to help residents take a step to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. City residents can apply for rebates to offset the cost of electric lawn care tools including lawnmowers, weed trimmers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers. The rebates are eligible for one time purchase and range from $25 to $50, although a resident may receive a maximum rebate of $150 if they purchase all four items mentioned above. Benefits to residents include reduction in local fuel usage and emissions as well as monetary savings from reduced fuel purchases.
