The Chesapeake Bay Trust Charles County Forest Grant Program implements cost-effective county reforestation projects to increase tree canopy. Projects on individual private, commercial private, community-owned, school sites, and nonprofit owned property are eligible for funding. By increasing the number of trees and expanding green space, we reduce erosion, improve water and soil quality, reduce air pollutants and energy use. Funding requests are generally less than $20,000 and less than $4,500 per acre. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
