Opportunity: EPA’s Proposed ENERGY STAR Residential New Construction Program Open for Public Comment

EPA’s proposed advanced certification program, beyond the core ENERGY STAR for New Homes program requirements, is open for public comment through November 15, 2021. The advanced program will provide additional recognition for the next generation of homes and apartments that incorporate efficient electric technologies such as heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, induction cooking, and electric vehicle charging capabilities. At the November 17 Climate, Energy and Environment Policy Committee (CEEPC) meeting, an EPA representative will highlight this new upcoming program.
